Summer Activities for Dogs

Summertime is finally here! Are you and your four-legged buddy ready for the dog days of Summer? Children are out of school for summer vacation and having fun; shouldn't you and your dog have some fun, too? Here are some fun tips for you and your dog to enjoy summer!

1. Go to the Dog Park:  There's no better time to go to the dog park than a nice summer day. In all likelihood, many other dog owners will have the same idea, so your dog will have plenty of company to play with. Be sure to bring plenty of water or make sure there is a water fountain, it can get hot out. You can take your dog to the park at night if he prefers tranquility and space, just make sure he uses a Dog-e-Glow LED lighted collar to stay visible in the dark!!

2. Go swimming: Does your dog like to swim?  Taking the to a lake or the beach is a great way for them to get some exercise while staying cool during those hot summer days. If you are lucky enough to have a pool, it is a great way for your and your pup to get some exercise while beating the heat.

3. Go to a ball game: The World Series might be called the "Fall Classic", but baseball is truly summer's sport. Many MLB and minor league teams have games where dogs can attend.  If you love baseball, it is a great way to enjoy a game and not have to leave your furry friend behind.  Bring your Dog-e-Glow LED Light Up Collar and Leash and you might just see you and your dog on the jumbotron!!

4. Take a walk at night:  If your dog gets fatigued easily during the day, you may want to take a walk at night to avoid the higher temperatures. Be sure to bring your Dog-E-Glow gear so other can easily see you.

Pinterest's Most Followed Dog Related Boards

Never heard of Pinterest? Consider it a virtual pinboard whose mission is "to connect everyone in the world through the 'things' they find interesting."  Pinterest allows users to create different theme-based "boards" with pictures and videos they find interesting, and then share with friends, family, and other Pinterest users.

It might sound complicated, but the simplicity of the site is what has allowed it grow so popular in the past year.  Today it has more than 14 million users; a year ago it had only 400,000.  So how does it work?

After signing up for an account, users can create different boards where they can pin images they came across on the internet, saw on another users board, or they can directly upload content from their computer.  Each user's board can completely customize their board.  Common topics might be things such as: Things I Love, Home Decoration, Great Recipes, or our personal favorite... Puppies!

Since here at Dog-E-Glow we love our pups, we spent countless hours putting together some of the 10 most followed boards, all related to dogs of course, to help you get a jump start on some great users to follow.

With close to 2 million followers, Caitlin has put together a great collection of some very cute dogs, as well as some hilarious images of pups being pups.

I came across this board and expected to see some of nature's most dangerous animals, but was pleasantly surprised.  Daniel has put together a wonderful board of great images of all types of animals that will be sure to bring a smile to your face, close to 1.9 million people think so as well.

Great board with some cute pups, some funny dogs, as well as some dog products that she likes.

Christine has put together a board, which is mostly product based, of things she has come across and loves for her dog Miles.

Not as many pins as some of the other boards, but has some great pictures of good looking dogs that appeal to all audiences.

Mostly a product based board, sfgirlbybay* covers everything from sock monkeys made from real socks to stylish doggy travel bowls

Great board covering all types of furry animals.  Has alot of amazing photos that capture how incredible and beautiful animals can be.

I really like this board.  There are a ton of pins all related to dogs, but what really made this board for me was the posts that shared amazing stories about specific dogs and how compassionate and heartfelt they really are towards their owners.

This board has alot of great pins of pups that you just wanna snuggle with (would have never guessed from the title, huh?).  Also has a great collection of dogs with glasses on, who doesn't love a smart pooch after all!?

Can't blame us for a little shameless self promotion!  We just set up our Pinterest account so be sure to follow all of our boards!
